Rebel Cavalry.

Confederate cavalry from the Perry brothers. I picked these guys up from a wargames buddy about a year ago and finally put them together last month. I have painted them in various colours to depict a typical bunch of rebels. The flag is one I bought in a Brisbane wargames shop many years ago. Not the best but will have to do for now.

20mm Bavarians and French, Part 2.

In this post are photos of the Cavalry, Artillery and command stands for the 20mm Bavarian army. I have also painted up a couple of French units. One unit is the HaT early war French infantry in bicorns and the other is the good old Airfix French Infantry.

Just had to have a flag with this unit.

Nice old Airfix figures.

20mm Bavarians

As it has been a while since I last posted to this blog I thought I would share a few photos of my 20mm Bavarian army. Here are the infantry units, Three Line units and  two jager units. I will post the cavalry, artillery and command in the next post.

These guys were painted a few years back now and are all from the HaT range.

Dragoons, Generals and ADCs..

No French Napoleonic army can be complete without some French dragoons. This is the first of at least two heavy dragoon units I want to add to my French army. The next unit will probably be a "yellow" faced unit. As I only had a few photos of them I have added some photos of some of my French commanders. All of these figures are from Front Rank. The dragoon's flag is from GMB.

Here they are in their pink facings.

204 AWI troops for $1.98!!

Way back in the early 1970’s I remember seeing this add in a comic book. Back then I thought this was simply awesome and hassled my Dad for ages to send away for them. Eventually he did and after several months they arrived. The figures were rubbish really but I was still very glad to have them. They are all gone now but I still remember this add very fondly and the many battles we had with these guys. I now have a 15mm British army and a 28mm Continental army painted up and a 28mm British army still to paint. Here are my two French units that cost more than $1.98 for each figure.  Front Rank figures and GMB flags.

Probably use this chap as a marker.

The Royal Deux Ponts infantry regiment was made up of German soldiers in French service. I stared painting this unit about 3 years ago. It has been an “on again, off again” thing that has finally come to an end last month. The light blue coats and the colourful flag should make this unit stand out on the table.

My other French unit is the Soissonnois Regiment. This unit was painted a couple of years ago and I struggled with getting all that white done. Me and white don’t really get along too well.
