A few photos of my Napoleonic Highlanders. The 79th Cameron Highlanders and the 92nd Gordon Highlanders. Figures are from Front Rank and flags from GMB Designs.
Thanks for all the comments guys. Fireymonkeyboy.... The bases are 30mm frontage(15mm per fig) Paul of the man cave.... Was plannibg on a drop of single malt at tomorrow nights game with Ogilvie VC but, he has decided that his wife's birthday is more important. Happy Birthday Kath. Gav, how long until the lines go away??
Really nice work. I always appreciate the effort to do the Scots, with their tartan and stripey socks needing special time consuming attenion to detail. Fantastic result. Like the title too, puts me in mind of that scene from "A Bridge too Far", when a Scots officer shouts 'Run laddie!' to one of his paratroopers trying to carry a parachuted cargo pod. Great stuff
Some lovely work there. You've nailed both the tartan and the argyle. What size are you bases - there's an appreciable sense of mass to them.
ReplyDeleteYou have totally nailed those colours and complex patterns - guess you've earned yourself some single malt and a haggis!

Och aye the Noo, Jimmy! A scarier bunch of bare knees never graced a tabletop.
ReplyDeleteGreat work!
Great painting, I tried to do tartan, didn't look good so painted it a solid color. I'll try tartan again down the road.
ReplyDeleteStunning figures Rodger!
ReplyDeleteThose GMB flags finish them off nicely
Cheers
Paul
