Over the Christmas break I finally finished off another French Line Infantry regiment. This is the 4th regiment in a brigade of 4. The other three units have been painted for a few years now. All the units are from Front Rank, 3 Line and 1 Light. Flags from GMB.

Beautiful my friend, enough to break the thin red line, great skills.......
ReplyDeleteWonderful Rodger! They certainly look the business.
ReplyDeleteMost impressive...but enough to break the thin red line? You dream Sir!
ReplyDeleteCracking paint job!
Fantastic work.My only concerns are them being French. Great detail.
ReplyDeleteAre you not a fan of the French Paul?
DeleteThey look great as per usual !
ReplyDeleteCheers
Paul
I do love Front Rank figures, in the unit in the first few pics you must have nearly everyone of their figures, it makes the unit look alive, very well done that man!!
ReplyDeleteI suspect you might be right there Ray. I saw a photo of a unit that someone else had done once like that and so.... I like that they are all basically the same, but different.
DeleteVery nice painting on some nice figures!

Damn...that's a great looking unit!
ReplyDeleteVery nice work indeed, Rodger!

Excellent French Line infantry and a really impressive brigade.
ReplyDeleteYes wow, is all I can say... so much details, so wonderfully painted
ReplyDeletetake my hat off to ya, well done.
A great looking brigade and would make a fine advert for Front Rank.
ReplyDeleteThese are wonderful figures, very nicely painted. Front Rank make some of the best figures around.Fantastic blog.
ReplyDeleteI'm going to use your blog as a painting guide vs real research when painting my French.
ReplyDeleteThanks for all the comments guys.
ReplyDeleteVery nice, if ever I needed an excuse to start buying lead again, this is it.
ReplyDeleteThese are absolutely brilliant. I always had a weak-spot for Frontrank. They paint incredibly well and offer a good variety.
ReplyDeleteYou've done them great justice with your great painting.
Great work Roger
ReplyDeleteWonderful job you have done there. I love front rank minis.
ReplyDeleteExcellent painted unit. I like the difference in uniforms a lot.
ReplyDeleteI only don't understand why the drummer has a green jacket? Can you tell why he has such jacket?
Greetings

The green jackets were know as Imperial livery, that was introduced by Napoleon around 1812/1813 for all musicians in the army. Difficult to know when this may have come in to bing but I like the extra colour in the units.
DeleteThanks you for the information Rodger!
