Over the past couple of months I have been busy re- basing my 15mm ACW armies. Although I really hate re- basing, the bases for these guys have been bugging me for years. Originally I painted 99% of these guys about 20 years ago.
Based mainly for Regimental Fire and Fury they could still be used for other sets of rules.
With the bases done that meant we needed to have a game.
At Easter a few of us got together for a wee game with the recently re- based fig's.
The game began with the Union holding an area of ground in front of the Rebel advance. Both sides were feeding in reinforcements every second turn.
Eventually it was decided that the Union had done enough damage to the Confederates that they would have to give up.
Great looking game
ReplyDeleteGreat looking ACW game :)
ReplyDeleteI have a couple of rebasing jobs that I am currently avoiding...
What a wonderful terrain! Great looking game Rodger...
ReplyDeleteThat's a brilliant looking game. ACW tabletops are so distinctive with their, nearly, unique N'American terrain features and architecture. I've got to admit that its an ambition of mine to finish off my own ACW gaming project.
ReplyDeleteNice looking set up, I can't think of anything worse than re basing!
ReplyDeleteFantastic looking lay out and figures!
ReplyDeleteAwesome display of Pictures, figures and terrain - lovely stuff!
ReplyDeleteYour work on rebasing the figures are perfect and look great as well!
cheers,
The game looks amazing! Well done!
ReplyDeleteThe table and figures look superb, Rodger!
ReplyDeleteGreat looking game Rodger! I'm starting to see a bit of a comeback in 15mm ACW gaming as of late. I'm currently still working my way through re-basing and touching up my 15mm ACW armies that I've also owned for 20+years. Just like you I play ACW in both 28mm and 15mm. I've kind of decided RF&F for 15mm and Black Powder for 28mm, but Longstreet and FoB2 I still haven't decided the scale. Are you having issues with rules too?
ReplyDeleteChristopher
Cheers Christopher. Rules of choice for me are Fire and Fury for both 15s and 28s. Not all in our group agree but enough for a few of us to enjoy some games.
DeleteOur group has tried RF&F for 28mm and the only way it's worked for us is to count every two figures as one base and use 15mm scale for everything or the figure count becomes prohibitive as well as table space. Time is also a factor sometimes as RF&F takes a bit longer.

Yes table size can be a problem. When you have 5 or 6 guys supplying fig's, having the numbers is not too much of a worry. F&F is a slow game but our biggest problem is trying to please all 7 of us with rules. So far we have less issues with F&F than any other rule sets.
DeleteGreat pictures and the famous fire and furious anger rules!
ReplyDeleteAwsome looking game would love to have been there to play :)
ReplyDeleteThat looks like a fabulous game Rodger.
ReplyDeleteGreat collection Rodger. Those 20 year paint jobs hold up very well!
ReplyDeleteVery nice game and great looking terrain!
ReplyDeleteBrilliant looking game Rodger!
ReplyDeleteGreat photos of the battle. BTW, the troops waited a long time to be called up to battle.
ReplyDeleteWow brilliant Rodger, figures look excellent all rebased and the terrain is superb to!

ReplyDeleteOutstanding, this small scale detailing is very impressive! Cheers!
ReplyDeleteFabulous looking game!
ReplyDeleteExcellent looking game. Yeah...re-basing. Not a job that is fun.
ReplyDeleteWhat an impressive looking game - excellent!
ReplyDeleteHow did I miss this post before?! What a superb looking game Rodger. I haven't got my 15mm ACW figs (also based for F&F) out for a couple of years now - clearly I need to put that right! Your game is very inspirational.
ReplyDeleteBest wishes,
Jason
