We had a game of The Men Who Would Be Kings the other night. We still have a fair bit of rebasing to do but we were keen to have another try out of these rules.
Here are a few photos from the game.
Most of the figures are from Brad's collection with the British from me and Geoff.
The rocky areas are some terrain pieces I knocked up the other weekend for our colonial games.
Looks good, Rodger!
ReplyDeleteWow. Even though I have gotten rid of my small collection of colonials, and think that was the right decision, I always see games like this and want to second guess myself. Osprey keeps putting out good, playable rules. Why do you have to rebase, and how?
ReplyDeletethink he means the movement trays need finishing
DeleteNice looking game Rodger!

Nice looking game - Kings is becoming my go to set at the moment they do strike the right balance between speed and force sizes.

Great stuff!
ReplyDeleteSimple, effective and attractive set-up and figures, Rodger. Question: did the man get to be king?
ReplyDeleteSpeaking of the M who would be K, if you have never read it, I recommend G. Macdonald Fraser's "Flashman and the Mountain of Light". The Man WWB King is a major character (though you are not told this until the end).
I heard that Sean Connery was among the red coats there somewhere but I didn't see him. Thanks for the tip, I shall look out for it.

ReplyDeleteHow do you think the rules worked+
Hi Michael.
DeleteWe like the rules. To get everyone in our group to like a set of rules is almost impossible. Big PLUS from us!
Great looking minis and terrain, superb!
ReplyDeleteNice looking game, and colorized too
ReplyDeleteFun stuff, Rodger.
ReplyDeleteThat looks splendid...must have a look at TMWWBK myself.
ReplyDeleteNice looking game and nice looking troops . Love it!
ReplyDeleteIt all looks very good indeed. I like your sabot bases. I've got the book and am tempted but would be interested if you could tell us more about the actual game besides just the nice photos.
