WW1 Flamethrowers.

Some of these guys I painted up a while ago but only recently finished off the last few.
They are from Renegade Miniature set WW1G 112.

I have been busy finishing off a few sets of figures like these recently so more to come in the next week or two.

I see that the blog has finally got to 200 followers after hanging in the 190's for ages. Thank you all very much for this. Thanks for all the comment too. I really do appreciate them.

Zulus

A few years ago now I picked up a box of each of the Wargames Factory Zulus and the British infantry. I have made up most of the British and even painted a couple but don't like them that much.I thought the Zulus might be just as bad so they have been sitting around untouched! Finally, the other week I was looking for something other than WW1 to paint, came across the box of Zulus and proceeded to make some of them. There are 30 in a box , so, I have split them into a group of 18 that will be spear armed, and a group of 12 that will have rifles and muskets.
Here then are the skirmish chaps, armed with muskets and  Martini-Henry rifles, with a few mods.

The photos were taken last weekend when there was next to no sun about.

The firing figures are crap! But the guy in the centre here got a bit of surgery.

There are some powder horns on belts to be worn over the shoulder but I changed a couple of them to have the guys carrying them in their hands

Along with the captured Martini-Henry rifle this fella has grabbed an ammo belt as well.

This guy has also grabbed an ammo belt but he is wearing his one.

Zombies!!!!

A couple of weeks ago my photographer daughter Mandy told me that she was arranging a photo shoot of Zombies. Although not really into the zombie thing I thought there would be a few of you out there who would like to see the end results. Making use of some of her friends to act as the zombies, a bit of makeup and some props, and they were into it. These are just some of the photos she took. I have reduced these photos a fair bit so some of the quaility has been lost but hopefully you get the idea.

WW1 German Artillery.

I picked up this WW1 German 77mm Field Gun and Crew a while ago and have finally finished it. This one is made by Old Glory. Comes with a crew of 6 but I have only based 4 with the gun and then based the other two guys on washers. Although labeled as 25mm it does not look too out of place with the 28mm stuff I have. Sorry about the photos being crap.

WW1 Building.

 Here is another somewhat damaged building for our 28mm WW1 games. Built the same as the last one. The shell crater in the ground did not work out as good as I would have liked but it will have to stay. Although there is not enough rubble for the amount of damage, I intend to make some piles of rubble later that can be placed around to suit. Too much rubble on the base just makes it too difficult to place the troops in there.

Wounded on stretchers made from plastic. The wounded are made from plasticine, covered with tissue paper and PVA glue, and heads are from the Wargames Factory Colonial British.

WW1 German Jager

 These guys are another group that I received as a Christmas gift last year.
 Great War Miniatures make some truly outstanding figures and these are right up there with the best. Nice poses and all of them are different.

Fort Wayne.

A couple of months ago I started gluing sticks together and Fort Wayne began to take shape.

 This all came about due to a conversation early last year between my mate Wayne and I over needing a fort for our Southern Strategists group for our FIW games. I thought, this sounds like something that I could have a go at, so after a year of procrastinating I made a start.
Because it was Wayne's idea I have named it after him and it now resides in his wargames room.


The base is made from 3mm MDF with a textured plaster covering, the walls are sanded strips of balsa wood and the lift off roof is made from card tiles.

I made the walkway around the fort rather wide to help accommodate our figure's bases.

 There are wall sections that are the same size as the building to allow for it to be part of the wall or placed within the walls or left out altogether.

 The gates are hinged so that they could be left open or closed.

 The card tiled roof can be removed to allow for the placement of figures within the building.

I also made up a couple of stands of damaged wall section for when the attacker finally breaks in.
