Dragoons, Generals and ADCs..

No French Napoleonic army can be complete without some French dragoons. This is the first of at least two heavy dragoon units I want to add to my French army. The next unit will probably be a "yellow" faced unit. As I only had a few photos of them I have added some photos of some of my French commanders. All of these figures are from Front Rank. The dragoon's flag is from GMB.

Here they are in their pink facings.

French general and A.D.C.

Marshal Soult and A.D.Cs.
Line foot artillery command.

Heavy cavalry commander.

  1. Very nice! Funny, I'm just about to prime a unit of Perry dragoons to ultimately paint up with yellow facings - great minds, eh? I quite like the artillery officer with the maps as well.

  6. Lovely work Rodger!

French dragoons are some of my favourite cavalry. The brass helmet with fur turban and horsehair crest is just so stylish. Offset with pink facings, they are the height of fashion. Forget those flashy hussars!

BTW your heavy cavalry officer's sidekick seems to be having trouble with his cuirass around his neck. Too tight perhaps? ;-)
