Happy New Year.

2012
To kick off the new year here are some pic's of Roger's Rangers that I painted up a while ago. Still yet to see any action on the tabletop. These chaps are made by Front Rank and are a real joy to paint.

Hopefully 2012 will be a much better year for my home town of Christchurch. 2011 saw the city practically "shut down" for a day or two because of snow, twice within two weeks! Several thousand earthquakes during 2011 have not been kind to this city either.

Thanks to all of you who take the time to look and comment on this blog, I really do appreciate it.

I wish you all a very Happy New Year and hope you all have a great 2012 of painting, making collecting and playing with model soldiers.

Just clicked midnight here in N.Z.

  3. Happy New Year to you too Rodger! Sorry to hear about the earthquakes, but no sympathy for the snow from someone who lives in the Great White North. ;-)

The rangers look great. I'd be tempted to do FIW just to paint up a unit of these guys. Still remember a few of Roger's Standing Orders I learned as a cadet:

    1. Don't forget nothing.

    5. Don't never take a chance you don't have to.

    19. Let the enemy come till he's almost close enough to touch. Then let him have it and jump out and finish him up with your hatchet.

    Good stuff! :)

  11. Great looking Rangers, Rodger! All the best for the New Year, Dude!

Did you kniow that since Septemer 4 2010, we have had 9,500+ aftershocks in this region? More to come too methinks. Makes it hard to concentrate on any one project. I'm finding. How about you?

    Cheers,
    Ion

  12. Hi Ion. The aftershocks are a right pain. The other night I was painting when a resonable one came through. Had to grab my jar of water before it spilled everywhere!! Hang in there mate.

  18. Thanks for the nice comments guys. By 9am this morning we have had 25 aftershocks today, some have been rather strong. Even lost power here for a couple of hours.

  20. Great looking figures - you've painted the faces to look most natural, not exaggerated. I will certainly look forward to seeing a report of the first game they take part in. Thank you for such a nicely presented blog and for your comments on mine over the last couple of months.

  21. Nicely painted figures! I sold off my FIW figs a few years ago and am still kicking myself! After seeing your pics I need to put in an order to Front Rank ASAP! Take care -
