From Sharpsburg to Antietam.

Last weekend a number of gamers from around New Zealand gathered in Christchurch to refight the battle of Sharpsburg or Antietam.

Below is a taste of what the game looked like.

For many more photos and a very short report follow the links,

John's photos and report, and my photos.

Towards the end on day two.

I really must get some sponsorship for this!

The table setup.
The tables running around the back were for the Union reserves to move along before entering the fight.

  4. Now that's a lovely looking game - great looking terrain and troops with a lot of nice maneuvering going on. Impressively done.

  5. Fine example of planning and execution of a tabletop battle.

I'm lovin' the Jim Beam sign, hand painted by a local citizen who sniffs turpentine and licks his brush after cleaning in thinner, and who drinks moonshine to wash the bad taste out of the back of his mouth. (And it works too!)
